LinkedIn MCP Server
LinkedIn is a professional network. Publish and manage posts, comments and reactions as a member or Company Page, and look up organizations.
What is the LinkedIn MCP Server?
The LinkedIn MCP server gives AI agents structured, permission-aware access to LinkedIn through the Model Context Protocol. With 21 pre-built actions, agents can read, create, and update LinkedIn data on behalf of authorized users.
Willow ships the LinkedIn MCP server as part of an enterprise control plane. Every call runs behind SSO (Okta, Azure AD), enforces RBAC and least-privilege at runtime, writes to a full audit trail, and integrates with Splunk and Loki for SIEM visibility. Connect from Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, VS Code, n8n, or any custom agent. Install once, distribute org-wide, and see exactly how LinkedIn is being used by every AI agent in your stack.
Tools
Get My Profile
Returns the authenticated member's name, profile picture URL, locale and (if granted) email. The `sub` value is the member id: the person URN is `urn:li:person:{sub}`, which other tools need as an author or actor.
Create Post
Publishes a post as a member or a Company Page. Text only by default; pass article_url and article_title to attach a link, or reshare_parent to reshare an existing post. LinkedIn returns the new post URN only in the x-restli-id response header, which this tool cannot show, so use List Posts by Author to find it afterwards.
Get Post
Gets one post by URN: text, author, visibility, lifecycle state and attached content.
List Posts by Author
Lists posts written by a member or Company Page, newest first. Listing a member's posts needs r_member_social and a Page's needs r_organization_social, both granted only to approved apps.
Update Post
Edits the text of an existing post. Only the commentary (and an optional call-to-action) can be changed after publishing.
Delete Post
Deletes a post. Deleting an already deleted post still succeeds.
List Comments
Lists the comments on a post, or the replies to a comment when given a comment URN.
Get Comment
Gets one comment by its id on a post or on a parent comment.
Create Comment
Comments on a post as a member or Company Page. Pass parent_comment to reply to an existing comment. The new comment id is returned only in the x-restli-id response header, so use List Comments to find it.
Edit Comment
Changes the text of a comment. Pass actor only when editing as a Company Page.
Delete Comment
Deletes a comment. Pass actor only when deleting as a Company Page.
List Reactions
Lists reactions (like, celebrate, love, insightful, support, funny) on a post or comment, newest first.
Create Reaction
Reacts to a post or comment as a member or Company Page. LIKE is the thumbs-up; PRAISE is Celebrate, EMPATHY is Love, INTEREST is Insightful, APPRECIATION is Support, ENTERTAINMENT is Funny.
Delete Reaction
Removes the actor's reaction from a post or comment.
Get Social Metadata
Gets engagement totals for a post or comment: reaction counts by type, comment counts, and whether comments are open or closed.
Set Comments State
Opens or closes comments on a post. Closing comments deletes all existing comments on it; reactions are kept.
List My Organization Roles
Lists the Company Pages the authenticated member has a role on, with the role and its state. Use it to find organization URNs to post as.
List Organization Roles
Lists who has which role on a Company Page, such as its administrators.
Get Organization
Gets a Company Page by numeric id. Full details need the member to be an ADMINISTRATOR of that page; otherwise LinkedIn answers 403 and Find Organization by Vanity Name returns the public fields.
Find Organization by Vanity Name
Finds a Company Page or school by the vanity name in its URL (linkedin.com/company/{vanityName}). Returns public fields and the numeric id used to build `urn:li:organization:{id}`.
Get Organization Follower Count
Gets how many members follow a Company Page.

Enterprise Governance for LinkedIn
Willow adds the layer LinkedIn and every other SaaS doesn't ship out of the box: every call runs behind SSO (Okta, Azure AD), enforces RBAC and least-privilege at runtime, writes to full audit logs, and detects shadow AI usage across your stack. One MCP gateway. Any agent. Every tool.
LinkedIn MCP Server FAQ
What is the LinkedIn MCP server?
The LinkedIn MCP server is a Model Context Protocol implementation that lets AI agents like Claude, Cursor, and ChatGPT read and write LinkedIn data through a standardized interface. Willow hosts and governs this server so enterprises can roll it out without a security review backlog.
How is Willow's LinkedIn MCP server different from the official one?
The official LinkedIn MCP server is scoped to a single user's account and does not include enterprise governance. Willow's version adds SSO, RBAC, audit logging, shadow AI detection, and centralized control over which actions agents can take across the entire org.
Which AI clients work with the LinkedIn MCP server?
Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, VS Code with MCP support, n8n, and any custom agent built with OpenAI Agents SDK, LangChain, Vercel AI SDK, or Anthropic SDK.
Is the LinkedIn MCP server secure? How does Willow handle authentication?
Every call runs behind your existing SSO (Okta, Azure AD). Per-user OAuth scopes the agent to exactly what that user can do in LinkedIn, nothing more. No credentials reach the LLM. Every action writes to an audit trail.
Can I limit which LinkedIn actions agents can take?
Yes. Willow lets you scope agents to specific actions, specific projects, or specific environments. Toggle actions on or off in the dashboard, or enforce policy via infrastructure-as-code through GitHub.
How do I detect shadow LinkedIn MCP servers in my org?
Willow's browser extension and discovery service surface unmanaged MCP servers, skills, and AI agents across the org. If a developer installed an unapproved LinkedIn MCP locally, you'll see it.
What does the LinkedIn MCP server cost?
Pricing depends on org size and deployment model (SaaS, dedicated cloud, self-host). See withwillow.ai/pricing or contact sales for a quote.
How do I install the LinkedIn MCP server with Willow?
Install via the Willow Connect Panel in one click, or paste the JSON snippet above into your Claude Desktop, Cursor, or Claude Code config. SSO and RBAC inherit from your existing Willow setup.
